Williams Whittle was recognized for excellence in the 2015 Cancer Awareness Advertising Awards (CAAA) program for their advertising and marketing efforts, which scored among the best in the nation. The gold award was for their CANcer PREVENTion Campaign for the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), scoring within the top 5% of all submissions in the awards program.

“More than one million people in the United States alone are diagnosed with cancer annually,” said Rob Whittle. “As marketing professionals, it is crucial to inform and educate our communities about their ability to lower their cancer risk through diet, activity and weight control.”

With the kickoff of Cancer Prevention Month in February, millions of Americans saw AICR’s Cancer Prevention: Together We Can public service announcement on television and in magazines. The PSA uses colorful, dynamic text-based graphics to educate viewers about the links between everyday choices and cancer risk, and sends them to AICR’s CAN PREVENT website.

The CAA Awards is the nation’s most elite competition dedicated specifically to the promotion of all cancer products and services. Only advertising and marketing projects that are designed, printed, published and/or distributed for the sole purpose of cancer awareness can be entered into the annual CAA Awards program. All Entries competed with like-sized organizations in the same groups and categories. Winning entries are judged by a diverse panel of marketing experts.
